Meridian Pay is hiring a Senior Backend Engineer to design and own the backend payment services that move money reliably at scale. Responsibilities Design and own backend payment services end to end. Build idempotent, fault-tolerant APIs that never double-charge or lose a transaction. Design and operate Kafka event pipelines for processing, payouts, and reconciliation. Optimize Postgres at scale — indexing, partitioning, and query performance. Mentor mid-level engineers and raise the bar on reliability. Requirements 5+ years of backend engineering experience. Expert in Go. Strong in distributed systems and event-driven architecture. Production Postgres experience (indexing, partitioning, performance tuning). Deep focus on reliability and idempotency. Payments / fintech experience a plus.
