## About the role Hawai'i Health Systems Corporation is hiring a Respiratory Therapy Supervisor in Hilo to lead and manage the Respiratory Therapy Department — a team of therapists, technicians, aides and clerical staff — covering day-to-day operations, budget, equipment, quality assurance and staff development. **Location:** Hilo, Hawaii, United States · **Employment:** full-time · **Work mode:** on-site · **Experience:** 3+ years ## What you will do - Lead the Respiratory Therapy team: recruiting, training, evaluating performance, running meetings and resolving personnel issues, and ensuring staff competency through regular testing and performance reviews. - Oversee the department budget, manage resources and ensure quality service delivery. - Develop and implement quality assurance projects, policies and procedures to meet regulations and consumer needs. - Handle day-to-day department management including budget preparation, equipment ordering and maintenance, and supplies requisitioning. - Maintain relationships with other departments, facilitate ongoing staff education, and provide consultation on Respiratory Therapy services. - Ensure adherence to state, Medicare, CMS and JCAHO regulations, and uphold patient confidentiality and safety standards. - Monitor department performance through statistical analysis, contribute to programme development, and support staffing needs as a backup therapist when necessary. ## What you need - Bachelor's degree in Respiratory Therapy from a CoARC or CAAHEP-accredited programme, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. - Alternatively, an Associate degree from a CoARC or CAAHEP-accredited programme plus 2 years of additional professional experience, or an Associate degree plus a CRT certification in place of the bachelor's. - Three (3) years of Respiratory Therapist experience under medical supervision. - Valid State of Hawai'i Respiratory Therapist licence at time of hire. - Current Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) or Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential through the National Board for Respiratory Care. - Basic Life Support (BLS) within 6 months of hire. - Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and Paediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) within 6 months of employment. ## Benefits - 13 paid holidays a year (14 in election years) - 21 paid vacation days a year - 21 paid sick days a year - Medical, dental, vision and prescription plans - Employee Assistance Programme - Participation in the State of Hawai'i retirement system - Potential eligibility for student loan repayment and scholarship programmes - Eligible for overtime under the HGEA collective bargaining agreement
