About the role
About Instantly Instantly builds products that help businesses run and scale email outreach. Small teams own meaningful systems, work close to customers, and ship improvements that reach production quickly. The company is looking for exceptional talent — people hired here are expected to raise the bar, not just fill a seat. Compensation & profile - Compensation: no cap. The client will pay what the right person is worth — best candidate required. Do not screen anyone out on expected comp. - Location: remote (India). Mumbai-based candidates who can work from the office are preferred. Confirm the candidate's location, notice period and work-arrangement expectations in the submission. - Open to exceptional early-career candidates — do not filter only by years of experience or pedigree. - Instantly wants a long-term recruitment partner who learns their bar and sends a small number of highly relevant candidates. What this person must demonstrate - Strong programming fundamentals across modern frontend, backend, APIs, and databases. - Evidence of independently shipping a real product or meaningful production feature. - Product judgment, scope discipline, and willingness to challenge unnecessary complexity. - Strong analytical debugging and the ability to fill missing context without waiting for a complete plan. - Ownership through deployment, monitoring, customer feedback, and follow-up fixes. - Heavy, thoughtful use of Claude, Codex, or similar AI coding tools without surrendering technical judgment. Good-to-have experience - Startup or small-team product ownership. - TypeScript or JavaScript, React or a similar frontend, backend services, SQL, queues, and third-party integrations. - Performance work, observability, production incident response, and iterative product delivery. Screening questions to ask before submitting - Ask for one product shipped end to end: user need, smallest initial scope, architecture, deployment, and measured result. - Ask what they deliberately did not build and why. - Give an ambiguous customer problem and ask how they would investigate and define the first production release. - Ask exactly how they use AI coding tools, what they verify, and where they refuse the model's suggestion. Do not submit candidates who - Need detailed tickets or a complete plan before beginning investigation. - Overengineer early solutions or optimize for architecture without a customer outcome. - Have only tutorial projects and cannot explain decisions, tradeoffs, or production behavior. - Confuse code completion with a deployed and verified outcome. Submission format - Current compensation, expected compensation, and notice period. - Two short paragraphs: why the candidate fits, and the strongest evidence of ownership/shipping. - AI coding tools used, frequency, and one concrete workflow example. - Resume, current city, and portfolio or GitHub links where available. - One product or production feature, including the candidate's exact ownership and live outcome. Quality bar Builders who investigate, make sound tradeoffs, communicate clearly, and ship. Curiosity first, pedigree second. Instantly needs exceptional talent — send only candidates you would bet your reputation on.
