## About the role The Store Manager is responsible for overseeing and managing the daily operations of retail stores. The role involves driving sales, ensuring exceptional customer service, managing inventory, and leading a team of retail staff to achieve store goals and enhance overall performance. **Store:** SSAPL — Chennai Phoenix Mall **Grade:** G2 | **Department:** Retail | **Reports to:** Cluster Manager **Position type:** Permanent ## Responsibilities - Manage end-to-end store operations. - Accountable for achieving store targets — sales and KPIs. - Achieve customer satisfaction standards by maximising the customer's experience. - Manage all phases of store operations to ensure maximum sales and profitability. - Focus on key business initiatives, store presentation, marketing execution, inventory control, loss prevention, risk management and daily operational cost control. - Mentor and manage store staff. - Ensure visual display of products as per VM guidelines. - Coordinate with different departments for operational effectiveness. - Multitask with demonstrated management skills in coaching, training, recruiting and communication. - Provide a clean, fun and safe environment for employees and customers. - Propose and follow up on relevant stocks and replenishments regularly. - Handle damaged products and returns. - Facilitate staff learning and development. - Prepare daily, weekly and monthly sales reports. - Capture customer data in the POS. - Manage cash handling, stock management and petty cash. - Handle and resolve staff grievances. ## Role specifications ## Qualification - Graduate. ## Experience - Minimum 6 years in apparel or footwear retail (client screening bar). - JD band for the grade is 7–8 years. - Currently managing a store with 40+ lakhs monthly turnover. ## Competencies - Proficient in Excel and the platforms used for reporting structures. - Team management experience. - Experience managing P&L is preferred. - Well spoken, with a level of proficiency in presentation. - Product knowledge is an added advantage.
